Here at Candler County Hospital, we understand that coming to the hospital as a patient or as a loved one's support person can be a difficult, and often an overwhelming experience. Whether you’re preparing for a hospital stay or stopping by to see friends and family, knowing where to go and what to bring will help make your visit less stressful. To make your experience easier, we want to provide you with helpful information you may need to plan your visit, such as what to expect.

Admission

Your admission to Candler County Hospital will be arranged by your doctor. If admitted from your doctor’s office, then arrive at registration department. It is important that you arrive timely, especially if surgery is scheduled for the next morning, so any necessary tests can be completed.  Contact Us.

Before you Arrive

Pre-Certification:  Most insurance plans require pre-certification for non-emergency visits to the hospital. 

What to Bring:  You will need only a few personal items such as a bathrobe, slippers, sleepwear and toiletries. The hospital will provide a gown and other items you need. Bring currently prescribed home medications, as well as, supplements, i.e. herbals and other over-the-counter medications.

Valuables:  We recommend that you do not bring valuables with you. We cannot be responsible for them, so we ask that you leave them at home or have a family member take them when they leave to go home. We are also not responsible for dentures, eye glasses, hearing aids or other personal items of this nature.

When you Arrive

Upon arrival to Candler County Hospital, please present to registration and they will contact your nurse to assure your room is ready. To complete your registration, please bring the following items with you: health insurance card(s), photo identification (driver’s license, etc.), physician’s order and list of current medications. After completion of the registration process, a member of our staff will escort you to your room. Patient care rooms include private medical care rooms.
