Radiology & Imaging

The radiology department, under the direction of a board-certified radiologist and registered radiologic technologists, uses extremely sensitive and highly sophisticated diagnostic equipment to help your doctor in the evaluation of your condition. All x-ray examinations are made at the request of your attending physician and the results are reported only to him. Candler County Hospital offers a complete service in radiology, computerized tomography (CT), MRI,  ultrasound, echocardiography, bone density, ultrasound guided breast biopsy and digital mammography.

The department is staffed with fully trained registered technologists. This department is covered, on an emergency basis, 24 hours a day. Imaging has come a long way in healthcare, and remained current with the progression of imaging technology. Imaging is playing a big role in detecting and diagnosing unknown illness helping physicians to head off diseases that can be seen with imaging in the earliest of stages. Our Emergency departments, hospitalists, providers and surgeons regularly utilize this technology to rule out suspect injuries and medical conditions. Also, our area providers utilize the advanced technology at Candler County Hospital.
