Candler County Hospital Ranked 3-Star Hospital by CMS

Created by Candler County Hospital |

Metter, GA - Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will report in July its updated star ratings on the Hospital Comparison website. The data used to determine star ratings involves Patient satisfaction as reported through HCAHPS surveys (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) as well as state and federal Quality Measures related to Effective Care, Timeliness of Care, Patient Safety, Readmissions, and Mortality.

CMS rates hospitals using a one-to-five-star scale with a greater number of stars indicating better performance.  This is based on data analyzed and compared to other hospitals and healthcare systems in a state or region and is awarded on a yearly basis.  Previously, many Critical Access Hospitals like Candler County Hospital had not been on the comparison due to a lack of statistical collection procedures.  However, recent changes and data submission have provided CMS with enough initial information that our introductory star rating has now been determined.  Candler County Hospital is proud to report that we've been awarded a 3 out of 5 Star rating.  CCH continues to strive to be above the national average on a daily basis by providing patient centered care and going above and beyond for our local Hospital.  We are committed to excellence and in making CCH our community's first choice in healthcare.
